Scotto lands Weitz Fellowships with Women's Fund of Omaha for 2015-16

Emily Scotto, a 2015 graduate of Carleton College, is participating in the Weitz Fellows Program during the 2015-16 school year.

Scotto's fellowship is with Women's Fund of Omaha, , focuses on research, grants, and advocacy around issues facing women and girls in their communities. The position helps with grant funding to service providers, advocates for policy change, creates connections within the community. It also supports the organization with the ability to tell the stories of women and girls visually and for quarterly magazine.

The fellowship provides one-year jobs for seven Carleton 2015 grads at nonprofit organizations in Omaha and Lincoln, Nebraska. Positions are paid, include benefits and funding for professional development, and will provide exposure to all aspects of the organization. This is an unmatched opportunity for anyone interested in beginning a career in arts management, non-profit management, or social change. In addition, these are great opportunities for all students, including those with a pre-law or pre-med focus. The positions provide a year to explore how to use liberal arts and discipline-specific skills and expertise in a variety of settings, as well as encouraging future involvement in non-profit ventures wherever the student's career takes them.
